Rotamec Engineering Solutions, expert in motor rewinds, gearbox repairs and drive solutions has expanded its operation into South Wales following the acquisition of Pontypool Rewinds. As part of a continued investment process, Rotamec will maintain the high standard of repairs associated with the business and expand the range of services on offer to customers.
Hugh Williams and Lyn Kenney, who have owned the business for 30 years and will continue to run the branch, see the acquisition by Rotamec as a means to ensure their customers continue to receive a premier service.
“Our customers are very important to us, so we want to ensure that the business will continue to serve them when we decide to hang up our tools in the future. Rotamec is a responsible, forward-looking company that will be able to offer the service our customers expect”, explains Hugh.
Simon Brooks, Managing Director of Rotamec, commented: “Hugh and Lyn have built up a very loyal customer base and we will continue to deliver the same high-quality service as well as offering additional services for machining and the repair of other equipment. We will be investing in the staff as well as the facilities to expand the customer base and offer a wider range of services.”
Rotamec has a long history of taking on apprentices, most of whom stay with the business, and there will be opportunities for the same scheme to be operated in Pontypool. Simon Brooks is a strong believer in helping young people to learn new skills and achieve their potential.
Customers in South Wales will be able to take advantage of a range of additional services including pump repairs, fan services, gearbox maintenance and a range of machining facilities. Rotamec offers a comprehensive service, from in-house CAD design, to CNC machining to enable standard products to be modified to suit a specific application.
With a large stock-holding of new motors, gearboxes and drives, customers can be assured of short lead times for new equipment as well as for repairs. The experienced field service teams are fully equipped to carry out diagnostics as well as removal and installation of equipment on site. In addition, the 24/7 promise means that they are available whenever a breakdown occurs, minimising downtime and keeping customers’ processes operational.
Simon concludes: “Modern industry relies on electric motors, pumps and gearboxes to operate continuously, so when there is a problem, you need a fast solution. Rotamec understands the importance of speed and high-quality repairs and now we have a great opportunity to bring our expertise and facilities to customers in South Wales and further afield.”
